- Inspect Belts & Pulleys β’ Check for cracks, fraying, glazing β’ Spin each pulley by hand to confirm smooth operation
- Clean Deck Thoroughly β’ Remove grass buildup under the deck β’ Wipe down spindle housings and belt paths
- Lubricate Moving Parts β’ Grease spindles, idler pivots and tensioners
- Check Belt Tension β’ Use a tension gauge or deflection method (1/4" to 1/2" deflection at mid span)
- Safety Inspection β’ Tighten all deck mounting bolts β’ Verify smooth clutch engagement and disengagement
