Murray lawn mowers were originally produced by Murray, Inc., a company known for its affordable and reliable outdoor power equipment. However, in 2005, Briggs & Stratton, one of the world's largest producers of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, acquired the Murray brand. This acquisition allowed Briggs & Stratton to expand their range of consumer lawn and garden equipment under the Murray name, integrating their own engine technology into the Murray product line. Thus, as of now, Murray lawn mowers are owned and manufactured by Briggs & Stratton.
